Hog Island – An ancient Aboriginal shell midden on a coastal sand dune which has disappeared due to the ever changing coastline: shellfish was an important part of the diet for native peoples.



Through education programs, exhibitions, the research library, our historic sites, and special events, GAHS offers New Yorkers and visitors to Queens a chance to connect with the heritage of Queens.
