Steinway Exhibit (2017)

Several years ago, the Henry Z. Steinway Collection, comprised of maps, images, lithographs, photographs, and ephemera of the Steinway Community, was made accessible to the summer internship program at the GAHS.

Interns, using field research as well as Google Earth, were able to reconstruct most of the original community as a surprising amount of it remained. They were able to create then-and-now images keyed to a late 19th century map of the area.

This information was made into a lecture, an exhibit, and later, a walking tour.
