What does GAHS do?
Chartered in 1985, we are a non-profit organization supported by the Greater Astoria/Long Island City community, dedicated to preserving our past and using it to promote our community’s future. In addition to an onsite museum of our permanent collections and rotating exhibits, the Society hosts staff and guests lectures, art exhibits, book signings, walking tours, films and special programs for the public and to local organizations and schools. We are also open to programming suggestions from our membership and community!

Where is GAHS located?
On the 4th (top) floor of the historic Quinn building at 35-20 Broadway (& 36th Street) in Astoria, Queens.
trains: N/W to Broadway (this station currently closed until February 2019 but 30th Avenue stop is not far) or M/R to Steinway Street

What are GAHS’ hours?
Open Mondays, Wednesdays 12pm–6pm
Open Saturdays 12pm–5pm
Closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

How much is membership to GAHS?
$25 Individual / $40 Family (2 or more) / $20 Seniors & Students

What does GAHS membership include?
A membership with us is a passport to a year of historical journey!
Mail notification of and free admission to monthly lectures and certain events + $5 discount on Forgotten New York tours ($15 for members, usually $20).

How do I volunteer with GAHS?
