Tour Dead Horse Bay
Kicking off the 2018 tour season with a new event! We will stroll down to the water’s edge at Dead Horse Bay, the famed “bottle beach,” a repository of NYC historical detritus of the last few decades.
Then, walk up Flatbush Avenue to see the marvelously restored Art Deco Ryan Visitor Center and visit Historic Aircraft Restoration Project at Hangar B where classic 20th Century aircraft has been marvelously restored.
Lunch is optional at the nearby Aviator Sports and Events Center.
I will provide historic tidbits along the way.
IMPORTANT: Wear thick-soled shoes (no flip flops) and bring a camera.
Officially it’s in a NYS park and so removing anything from the beach is prohibited.
WHEN: Saturday, April 21st, special start time: 11 AM
