F NY Gramercy Park
Sun Nov 11, 12:00 pm
Gramercy Park is one of NYC‘s oldest parks, having been founded in the 1830s, and remains one of two private parks in New York City.
We won‘t have access to Gramercy Park itself, but we will tour all around its exterior, taking in the National Arts Club, the home of Mayor James Harper, and many other highlights.
Then it‘s down Irving Place, a street rich with the spirit of 19th-Century writer Washington Irving, and finish with lunch at Pete‘s Tavern (cost not included).
Where: Meet in front of the William Seward statue, 5th Avenue and 23rd Street at Madison Square (R, N trains).
Rain date: November 18.
Time: approximately 2.5 hours.
Cost: $15 for GAHS members, $20 for everyone else.
These programs are supported by public funds from the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs.
Additional support provided by the membership of the Greater Astoria Historical Society.
