THE ‘SEARCHERS’ – 60th ANNIVERSARY (1956-2016)
Celebrate the 60th anniversary of what many consider ‘The Greatest Western of All Time!’

History Roundtable in the G.A.H.S. Public Gallery.

SATURDAY, October 8th @ 12:45 P.M.

The Searchers, the 1956 masterpiece filmed by legendary director John Ford, has been named the greatest Western classic by the American Film Institute. It stars John Wayne (in possibly his greatest performance), Jeffrey Hunter, Vera Miles, Ward Bond and Natalie Wood. It was filmed in beautiful and haunting Monument Valley.

After the screening of the film, three members of The Searchers Club of NY (Patrick Falci, William Finlayson and Martin Smith) will hold a panel discussion on the making of the movie.

These programs are supported by public funds from the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs.

Additional support provided by the membership of the Greater Astoria Historical Society.
